During this meeting we will cover a lot of topics that are very important to any member of the H.O.A. These will include current financials, the work that was done this year, the 2027 future plans and most of all the voting for members for the 3 positions that are open this year which include president, director, and communication leader (website, Facebook).

The option to vote electronically is available at the link below, otherwise paper voting will be available at the meeting.

If you would like to preserve your right to vote for a person who might be nominated from the floor at the annual meeting, and you are unable to attend that meeting, you may appoint a proxy to vote in your behalf. Proxies must be in attendance at the annual meeting. Proxies are also due at the latest at 6:00 pm on October 13 through email to amy.rouech@gmail.com.

There are three positions that are up for election but anyone can volunteer and come to the meeting to ask as a write in.

Candidates that have applied so far:
For the president position:
Melissa Bray (Lot 51)

I have served as a director of the OABL HOA for the past two terms and am seeking the role of president for the 2027-2029 term.
I want to increase homeowner involvement by strengthening communication between residents and the board, learning what matters most to our community, and proposing additional activities throughout the year that bring neighbors together. I am driven, organized, and committed to getting things done efficiently. As president, I hope to collaborate with our current board members to update our bylaws and streamline our business practices.
My experience includes serving as treasurer for my sons’ PTA, working as a crime scene coordinator with the State Police, managing a fleet, and leading forensic investigations at Hyundai Motor America. Most importantly, I am a wife and mother to two sons and two stepsons—so I have plenty of experience keeping things organized!

For the two director positions:
Madison Elder (Lot 49)

I’m excited about the opportunity to be part of the Oaks at Beach Lake HOA Board—my commitment to community stewardship runs deep. As someone who has served on booster boards in other neighborhoods, including those in Milford, MI, I bring both experience and a genuine desire to serve. I’m ready to lend my time, energy, and passion now so we can build something great together for our residents.

Steve Economy (Lot 4)

I am a retired senior vice president with extensive experience in government affairs at Michigan Bell/Ameritec and administration roles at the Detroit Metro Airport. I hold a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Michigan State University. In addition to my corporate leadership, I have served on homeowner association boards in Livonia, Farmington Hills, Florida, and Oaks at Beach Lake. My career reflects a strong commitment to community engagement and public service across diverse regions in Michigan.

Richard Giesige (Lot 53)

I’m passionate about leadership development and believe the best communities are ones where people feel ownership rather than simply following rules. I regularly give back to our neighborhood by coaching my daughter’s sports teams and volunteering with several organizations, including my church. As a Director of IT at a local company, I bring technical expertise to help strengthen our website and social outreach strategies—ensuring residents stay connected digitally while we maintain transparency. As a continuing board member, I would apply the same leadership mindset I use in everything I do: listening actively to neighbors, communicating clearly and consistently, and encouraging residents to actively shape their community’s future. I’m confident preparing meeting materials, running productive meetings, and turning group input into actionable next steps. My goal is not just to avoid mistakes but to help our community aim for excellence
